Commute Connection is offering two vanpool lease fare subsidies to newly leased vanpools and existing vanpools which are leased from an approved vendor*. All subsidy payments are paid directly to the leasing company on the leasee's behalf.
What is a vanpool? A vanpool is a means of transportation in which a group of individuals travel between their homes and a regular destination within the same geographical area. Vanpools work best for those who live at least 20 miles away from their destination and have a consistant schedule.
COMMUTE CONNECTION SUBSIDIES:
1) Start-Up Subsidy: The Start-Up
offered at $200 per month, per van for one year ($2,400 total)
as long as all criteria are met according to the signed subsidy
agreement. An additional $100 per month will be paid as long as the
vanpool stays on the road and continues to adhere to the subsidy
agreement or until all funds are exhausted.
Origination or destination for this subsidy must be within San Joaquin, Stanislaus or Merced Counties.
2) Long-term Subsidy: The Long-term Subsidy is offered at $100 per month to existing leased vans which have received a Commute Connection subsidy in the past and are still on the road. The Long-term Subsidy is available to vans that satisfy and comply with the subsidy guidelines and is for the term of the lease or through June 30, 2017.
