Commute Connection's Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program was established to encourage commuters to use alternative modes of transportation such as biking, walking, riding transit, carpooling or vanpooling by providing assurance that they can get home in the event of an emergency should they be left without a vehicle. The program has assisted many commuters who work in Commute Connection's territory of San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Merced counties. Commute Connection is happy to announce an enhancement to the ERH program in which commuters who reside in one of the three counties and work outside of the three county area can now use ERH if the county they work in does not offer a similar program. In addition to cab companies and rental car agencies, Commute Connection has added ride hailing companies such as Uber and Lyft as a way of getting home in the event of an emergency. These options would be strictly on a reimbursement basis.
Participants in the Emergency Ride Home program must be pre-registered to use this PROGRAM.
Eligible commuters may use this service no more than four (4) times during a one-year period (see Program Guidelines).
